Getting started with Drupal Gardens

on February 26th, 2010 at 7:49:10 PM

I'm thrilled to be able to use the Beta version of Drupal Gardens-if you're reading this you've probably volunteered to help test this website and/or help edit the content. So you made it through the registration process. Welcome! And thanks so much for your help.

For now, registration is required to view the website. That will change - we'll make many things available to the public and have other things available just to registered users. There may be a way to set up a sub-site jst for members, I have to look into that.

Please remember, the "look" of the site will be changing. Hopefully I'll be getting some help with the design aspects, and Drupal Gardens will be releasing some more themes over the next few weeks. One of the great things about this kind of website - a content management system - is that the content (each page, each blog entry, each image) is stored in a database. The design of the site is changeable (of course it does require fine tuning and time)... but the design can be changed without losing any content.

Please explore, and leave comments wherever you want to. Ask questions!  Tell me what you like and what you'd like to see changed. If we end up working out a lot of editing by using the comments features, I'll probably delete those comments before we go "public" with this site.  Don't worry, anything you do can be fixed - or deleted.

Start by leaving me a comment on this blog post - just to let me know you've been here, and to try it out. Thanks!
