About our photographs

We need more photographs!  And we need a volunteer photo editor (or several). Meanwhile, we're adding photographs as quickly as we can. Please use the "Feedback" tab on the left to send us a message, asking for details about emailing digital photos.

Here's what we're looking for:

Nurturing interactions - parent & child together (or grandparent, other family member and child) - the point is that children need nurturing relationships in order to thrive; FAHN wants our photos to show that the moments add up, time spent with children matters!

Also - children engaged in everyday activities, these are probably better if they're not so much about the individual, but illustrative of what it is children DO throughout the day.

Please read some of our essays and articles, imagine what kind of photograph YOU might want to see there - and volunteer some time by looking through your family's photos and sending some to Family and Home Network for use on our website.

About identifying the photographers:

Photos from Flickr - we are currently using some photos from Flickr, they have "Creative Commons" licenses, which allow public use with credit. So those photographs are each linked back to their Flickr page.

Photos donated to Family and Home Network - some photos are donated to Family and Home Network, meaning the photographer has given permission for the photos to be posted on our website (and has authority to grant permission on behalf of the people in the photograph or has obtained their consent). We have not been identifying the photograper or the subjects in these photographs, to protect privacy. IF you want to allow FAHN to use your photographs but you DO want credit, please ask about that, and we'll figure out how to make that work.

Ideas about how to manage the photographs and/or use a free photo-sharing service are most welcome. There may be a way to set up a FAHN album on a photo-sharing website, have individuals post photos there, and then FAHN editors can look there for photos to illustrate FAHN's website. Do you have suggestions? Experience? Can you volunteer some time to help us with photographs?
