Existing ProgramsThe following states have AHIC programs (see details below):These states have proposed AHIC programs but, to date, have not implemented them:

If you would like to volunteer to be a contact person in your state, please let us know at AHIC@familyandhome.org. About the ProgramsMinnesotaFamilies who qualify for the Basic Sliding Fee Scale for childcare assistance*
are qualified to apply for AHIC. The available subsidy is 90% of the child
care subsidy rate minus the co-pay. This is available for up to 12 months.
There may be a waiting list for the program. Those interested in applying
should contact the local child care referral office. A directory of those
offices can be found at http://cf.state.mn.us/childcare/ccapcounties.html
or you can contact the Department of Children, Families and Learning at
(651) 582-8562 or e-mail at childcare@state.mn.us. MontanaFamilies at or below 150% of the poverty rate can receive 100% of the
child care subsidy rate ($18 dollars per day). The subsidy can be received until the child is two, or the two year maximum for the program can be divided between children. This program is available to single parent families as well as two parent families. For more in depth information or in order to apply contact your local child care resource and referral office. This program may be in jeopardy as the funding runs out in June and new funding has not been allocated. |
