What's New

Almost all of the organization's work is accomplished by volunteers—and most of it is done online. Work when it's convenient for you, commit to just a few hours per month (or more!). You'll have VERY understanding colleagues whenever family needs take precedence. Give your professional expertise a workout, learn new skills, be part of our decades-long grassroots effort. Please join us!

We're hard at work building a new website, using open source tools (Drupal). If you can help, please let us know!

On our new website, we'll be able to more easily post photographs illustrating what we call "Captured by the Moment"—nurturing interactions between parent and child, grandparent and child, etc. We need volunteer photo editors—and we'll need your photos. If you use Facebook, you can add your photos to the Family and Home Network page now. When our editors are ready to use some on the new website they'll contact you to ask permission.

When our new website launches (January 2010) we'll need moderators and editors, please contact us now so you can join our team and we can be prepared for the launch.

Volunteers interested in public policy issues are always needed to join our policy team.

And - we're on the lookout for local (DC area) candidates for our Board of Directors. Let us know if you're interested in serving (terms range from one to three years).

Contact: Catherine Myers, Executive Director—exdir@familyandhome.org

We hope you'll join our team of volunteers!
